This page is for those who want to do more than surf. You are on this page because you
want to multiply your surfing dollars. There is no such thing as a free lunch. The reason
why I call it easy money is that you will work REAL HARD for a little while, and when you
get your network built, it will work for you, and you can just sit back and
watch.
First off, stay with it!
Don't be like 90 % of the people who sign up for GPTS programs. They'll never get
ANYTHING!!! Why? Because, believe it or not, most people sign up and then walk away. They
sign up, maybe get a bar or two, surf for five minutes, then quit when they don't get
$1000 the next day. I am just now making some money at GPTS and I am not getting rich
enough off it (yet). I am in it for the long haul. Don't expect to see huge results
right away. I got reasonable bucks in Dec. 99 because I did some promotion back in June
and July of 1999. I didn't get anything at all my first couple of months when
Alladvantage was the only game in town. For example, I already have a pretty big downline
in alladvantage I estimate only 5 to 10 percent of them actually use it. That's how I say
with confidence that 90% of your downline will probably be useless. But... here's a huge
thing we've got going for us for year 2000:
| In the new millenium,
more people will get Cable modems ( e.g. home.com) and IDSL connections. These people will
all of a sudden have unlimited internet access. If they are already signed up under you
they will transform from passive (useless) into active as they start surfing with the
bars. Your payout will go up later if you get them NOW!! |
Now for the success instructions. I know, I know. This list seems huge.
You don't have to do the whole thing in one day. You do have the advantage of my
experience. It's all right here on one page. This is a huge page, so click the topic below
you are most interested in. I've tried a lot of stuff and I've found placed handy links
for you to the stuff that worked for me. So keep coming back here to do one or two new
things each day. You'll be amazed how quickly you build your system.
Plan for GPTS Success
Get Ready.....
- Go out to your local OfficeMax and invest in a Rolodex. Even if you already have
one, get a dedicated one just for GPTS. Each time you sign up for a new program, write
down the name of the company, your userid, your password. You will be glad you did
this! Although e-wallets such as Gator will remember passwords, it's good to have them
on paper, and many companies give you other vital information besides login and password.
- Speaking of e-wallets, Grab the Gator! It will remember passwords and login names for you and
it will save you time. Gator is free. Just don't give it your credit card number.
Get Software.....
- Now that you're set, spend an evening joining downloading and installing the viewbars
for your selection of programs. VERY IMPORTANT: Do not use the same passwords
for all the programs! The reason why is simple: If someone hacks one of your accounts
and you have all the same passwords, they can hack into all of your account. Hackers know
that a lot of people make all their passwords the same. Don't do it.
Once you've
installed your viewbars, run them a little to get a feel for how they work. First run the
ones like AllAdvantage that require you to use it to get credit for your downline's
surfing. Then run the ones that pay the best to you personally. You can be running an
adbar or two while you're working on your promotion (Step 3).
Non-Windows users can skip this step for the time being. You should concentrate on
getting downline for programs that don't require you personally to run the adbar,
and programs like Ignifuge and PaysU that have a pay portal. (See the companies list if you are
unsure which programs are good for Mac and WebTV.) Write to the support departments of all
the companies you can't use yet and request a software version for your platform.
AllAdvantage is beta testing a Mac bar now, and the others will follow suit if they know
what's good for them.
Get Webbed.....
- Now for the biggie: If you want to promote, you have to use a combination of
website and safe email. You can make your own website, or there are a number of companies
that will give you a free one to use to promote with. These are very easy to set up, and
later you you can upgrade to their pro (paid) version. If you decide to go "pro"
on any of these then you get a portion of the money for anybody who goes pro under you.
Added bonus: The bars will pay you a little alrewady while you are online doing all this
work
Set up Email work for you....
- Get an autoresponder. You can get free one at Netscape.
First you have to sign up to be a Netcenter member. Then you sign up for their free email
address. This email is just for receiving FFA confirmations to keep them separate from
your regular email. More on that later. On the lefthand side of the page is a link called
"Free Services" Request an autoresponder. OK, now here is a BIG secret!! In your
autoresponder, don't promote Get Paid to Surf the Web, and don't put it into the business
category. Why? Because the web is flooded with these and nobody looks at them. I use
Entertainment. I give away a free Ebook and I promote that. There's a get paid to surf
link on it. This is something they haven't seen yet. They just might go to it, and if they
do and they've never seen Get Paid to Surf, they might click it. Find something you can
promote. Only promote Get Paid to Surf if you just don't have anything else.
Get a short catchy web address....
- One way to get your website more visits is to have a short and catchy web address.
Especially if you are going to ask people to type it in. They are not going to type
"http://www.thecockamamieisp.com/users/~you/gpts.html" or "http://www.speedlineclub.com/power/platypus.html?platypus."
But what if that really is your website? Not to worry. Click here to get a Free alias from arrive.com Mine is
http://theroute.to/easymoney --much easier to remember and type than
http://www.platypus-share.com/extrab.html.
Submit....
- Submit your site once every day to one of these places. (Remember, you can have viewbars
running so you are getting paid to do this.) Here are a few really good places:
Make FFA work for you...
- The web is chock full of places where you can get Free For All (FFA) pages. A lot of
people don't understand how FFA Link Pages work. Who in their right mind would look at
such a thing? Well the answer is, people don't. Then what is the point? Well, it's the
little spamoid that you are allowed to fire off at people who submit to your FFA
pages. You are allowed to do it only once each time they submit. You may not ethically
capture their email addresses and put them on spam lists--then it crosses the line and
becomes spam. But who is going to come to your FFA page in the first place and submit to
it? The answer is very few, if they have to do it manually. However, most FFA pages are in
networks, meaning that when someone submits to one FFA in a network they are actually
submitting to many. If your FFA is just off by itself, it won't do much for you. So what
you want in from an FFA page is:
- the ability to send an acknowledgement with YOUR plug in it.
- you want auto-submit, meaning it can accept auto submissions from anywhere in the
network it belongs to.
Here are just a few free FFA pages you can get. If you pay them you get extra benefits,
including paid signups, spamoid blocking, autoposting, and better reporting and tracking.
And... if you've set up your autoresponder, you can ethically respond to the people who
send you spamoids, so it pays to submit your site to FFA's once in a while, too.
Get heavy hitters...
- We would all like to sign really heavy hitting webmasters. If I got someone in my
downline who could easily sign up 40,000, I would love that. I've never gotten one that
good yet, but I have gotten a few by visiting sites whose authors seem to be interested in
making money with the web. I post to their guest books and/or send them email inviting
them to come see this page. I try to offer them something in return. Nobody will join you
if they think you're just soliciting. It is not enough to say "nice site." As
long as you have actually been to their site and have something personal to say about it,
you can't be nailed for spam. Here is the text file of the message I use. Edit it as you
see fit. Click here for a sample
email template. Doing this is very tedious. To avoid burnout, just do five or less
visits a day, but do it every day! In one month you will have sent 150
emails. My response rate for those is approximately 1 out of 4. (You would get about 37
signups a month at this rate.) Your results will vary depending on what sites you choose
to approach. This is a real mixed bag. My idea is to find a real professional popular site
that has never heard of GPTS. Unfortunately, most of the real pros have not missed this
opportunity. I've gotten some signups from web pages but these people tend to be the
clueless type. You can invite them to visit THIS page for some tips on improving
their signups!! In that way, it will indirectly improve yours!
Just BUY a position...
- I purchased a position at goto.com under "get paid to surf" and several other
search terms. You have to be in at least tenth place for this to be effective. You only
pay for hits, so if you're in 35th place, you won't pay much but you won't get many hits.
This did cost me money but it does get hits. If you don't want to bother with FFA's and
submitting and you have $25, just go to GOTO.COM and
sign up. Rocketlinks is another place where you
might want to consider purchasing some search terms. They don't get the traffic that goto
gets, but they are working on it. And remember, your money doesn't drain away until you
get the hits.
Newsgroups and Chatrooms...
- I personally don't do newsgroups so this is secondhand advice: There are newsgroups that
accept postings about GPTS. You can post there, although they are already full of
such posts. You can post a signature file at the bottom of ANY posting, just make sure the
main body of the posting is on the topic.
- Chatrooms work best if you and a friend work them in pairs. Be talking about what
everyone else is talking about, (let's say Beanie Babies). Casually mention that you
bought 2 dozen new Beanie Babies with your Alladvantage money. See if anyone takes the
bait. If not, your stooge can say "What's alladvantage?" Then you tell him and
provide the link. This is borderline, and if anyone complains, stop immediately.
Offline....
- I also put up posters around town. Your poster should refer people to your website.
Every time I go out of town I take a few of my posters. Dorms and employee breakrooms are
excellent places to put up posters. PDF Version of my poster coming soon!
- I put an ad in the local paper too. I got a few people from that. I will try an ad in a
university paper next. The jury is still out on this.
- You can set up on a public computer where people congregate with a little sign and sign
people up right there in person. I haven't tried that but some report good results with
it.
Miscellaneous...
- Don't join every company. Companies like MyPoints are really annoying. I joined under
sites who looked like they have vetted the companies carefully. I did the star rankings
and I made a bad list of companies I don't like so people wouldn't try to make me join
them. If a company you have joined goes south, delete it. It just makes you look bad and
out-of-date if you have links to losers like "Extrabuck."
- Do not link to or use cheat programs! Cheat programs undermine the whole system. If any
companies catch you using a cheat program, they will kick you out immediately and you will
lose any money that you have pending.
Suggest...
- If you've found something that really works for you, please suggest it! Don't just give
a URL, explain exactly how you use it. Too many of those places just give you the tools
but don't even tell you which end the "blade" is on.
